Invitation to the Summercamp 2018

Sheikh Hassan and the Osmanische Herberge are happy to invite all brothers and sisters to our summercamp in the week from 4.-10. August 2018. We're looking forward to see you!
We need some helpers for before, during and after the camp!!! Please contact us.

Activities

• Lectures with Sheikh Hassan Dyck
  Daily lectures from Sheikh Hassan's notebooks of the Sohbas of Mawlana Sheikh Nazim, written nearly 40 years ago in Damascus..
• Quran-School
  The ever-popular Quran lessons for all levels (in groups) with Ustad Ali Keeler will take place at 10.30 am. Please bring your own Quran, notebooks and Arabic alphabet textbooks.
• Silat
  Training for all from 12 years onwards with our Silat master Mikhail from Italy (https://www.nairsilat.com). Please bring suitable clothing (sweatpants and long-sleeved top or judo suite). Cost per person 10€ (once).
• Pragmatical spiritual therapy of the self
  An introduction with psychotherapist Abdul Hamid Staepke. Pragmatical, contemporary psychology following Imam Ghazali with the objective of strengthening the awareness of the beauty of creation and thus to prevent fear and depression. Please bring notebook and pencil.
• Traditional archery
  Basics of thumb-pull-technique with 7-steps-method with Ibrahim and Manni Monschau. We'll be shooting outdoors, weather permitting, so please bring sturdy footwear, and - if available - bow and arrow. Please register in advance with brother Ibrahim: ibrahim@osmanische-herberge.de.
• Introduction to Arabic Calligraphy
  Sister Sajida will help us bring out our artistic vein through her course on Islamic calligraphy. 13 years and above, material cost: 10€
• Puppet Workshop
  What is crawling on the meadow? A workshop with puppeteer Anna from Theater Papilio for children from 6 years old. We want to take a closer look and then make our own insect stick figures out of cardboard and sticks, with pearls and colorful papers. Butterfly and eagle, ladybug and earthworm will then meet for a big forest and meadow dance: with a final parade we bring the characters to life.
• Children's programme
  The kids programme promises entertainment for the little ones, with puppet making, ball games and arts and crafts. We request parents to actively be involved in the activities, e.g. supervision during arts and crafts sessions. Donations of balls, table tennis equipment, badminton sets etc. are welcome.
• Excursion to Bubenheimer Spieleland
  This trip is a popular part of our programme and is suitable for all age groups. Please organize your own transport!! Entry costs around 8€ per person. Website Bubenheimer Spieleland
• Drumming workshop
  Brother Muslim is offering drumming and percussion lessons for children and adults and private lessons. Please bring your own drum. Registration with Brother Muslim: awertwijn@tele2.nl
• Aafiyah Healing
  Zubair Girach will offer a short introduction to the Aafiyah healing method. For more information: https://www.aafiyahhealing.com. Consultations possible with appointment. Language: English.
• Mizan Therapie for Ladies
  Safiyyah Abalos, ITEC holistic massage and advanced Mizan Therapist, will give us an insight to the nurturing abdominal massage for women. • Ibn Sina's Medicine: Greco-Arabic Medicine
  Sheikh Atabek Shukurov is a Hakim (Islamic doctor), a scholar and the director of Ibn Sina Institute und Maturidi Institute. Sheikh Atabek will share Ibn Sina's prreventative medicine with us. For further information: https://www.ibnsina.co.uk/de. Consultations only by appointment. Cost per person for the lecture: 5€. Language: English.

Accomodation and prices

• Prices
  Charitable fee per adult ( from 18 years onwards) 50€ (for the whole week), kids aged 6-17 years 10€, free for children below 6 years. For some of the activities we will charge an additional fee.
• Meals
  We serve two daily meals on donation basis.  Everyone may bring some snacks or drinks to share with others.
• Accommodation
  For families with kids we recommend to book lodging nearby. All participants intending to sleep in the Dergah should bring their own bedding, sleeping bags, camping mats and towels. The sleeping areas must be clean by 9 am.

We like to make you aware of some important points:

1.  All attendants are required to participate in daily clean-up work.
2. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their kids at all times and have to compensate for possible damage! Please accompany your kids to toilet to avoid inconveniences for others!
3. The dergah kitchen will be accessible during specific times for preparation of food and drinks. Please clean up after yourselves! Please bring any specific food you may require, as there is no local supermarket  (half hour to nearest shop on foot). The kitchen will be locked at 11 pm.
4. Please respect the participant's and the neighbour's night rest!!

For further information and registration please write us an e-mail with your full name, number of family attendees (and age of kids), preferred accommodation (dergah or outside) and date of arrival.

General information

Twice a year a week full of seminars and workshops will be held in the Osmanische Herberge, once in summer in the week preceding the SufiSoul-Festival, and once in winter during the turn of the year.

The participiants of these "Camps" reside in the Herberge during the course of the week to partake in a wide variety of educational and recreational activities for all ages. These include Quran- and Arabic Lessons for all levels as well as sport and creative programmes.

Particularly for teeangers the camp offers an opportunity to connect with Muslims of same age, and to experience a good time in community - as has been the case with the treehouse project from 2015.

To join the camp it's mandatory to pay a registration fee, as well as small contributions, depending on the chosen activities.
